They are the same for AMC's right? as far as input and output shafts. im getting what ive been told is a super T10 with 3 notches on the input shaft. i know it came out of a camaro but im sure it wasnt the stock one.

You're kidding, right?? NO, a Camaro/Corvette T-10 will not bolt into your AMC. bolt spacing is WAY different, as are input shafts. I'm not sure, but I'd bet the output is different also.

Everything I said is null and void if you buy one of the new Lakewoods, in which case, it CAN be done....

so how much of a difference is the input shaft? bolt spacing doesn't bother me and neither does the output. and are you talking a lakewood built t-10?

naw foo. just get a new lakewood amc scattersheild. it fits amc blocks and mates gm muncies,t-1o's richmonds and other transmixers to the amc engine. plenty of jeeps used t-176's and 177's that have a gm sized pilot bushing. the rest is easy money, since the new lakewood fits a gm pivot, fork throwout brg. sheesh it's the sweetest setup in the friggin world.

yeah dude check with summit and see how available they are. I ordered mine and it took a few months to show up. be sure and get the adjustable pivot ball, and the hd fork from lakewood too. you need a pilot bushing from say a 1982 jeep j-10 with a v-8 and the t-177 four speed. this pilot has the gm pilot size, but fits the amc crank. you'll hafta trial fit the trans and check the depth of pilot engagement into the bushing when using an early borg flanged crank. another thing you might score from summit is a gm trans mount, i bought a urethane unit. they may also have output yokes, if not mark williams has some beefy units. the gm trans has decent gear ratio spacing, much better than any amc t-10. all in all, a good upgrade.

Yeah, you didn't do too bad. Especially considering that you can get damn near any ratio you want from Richmond, or Tex Racing, Jerico, etc. Oh, and its about 20 lbs lighter!

Actually, I'm really glad that it's set up for a GM trans. Many more choices available, I may have to go with 'vette six speed.
