Happened October '01. The car sat untouched until the winter of '05, when I started taking it apart. The drivetrain is out, as well as the front end, and that's as far as I got before the "Cheap ass 360 on nitrous" project took over. I hope to get it apart the rest of the way this spring, and have it media blasted.

It happened at the track. Long story short, I was against a faster car(mid 60's Belvedere) that was out on me several car lengths. He lost it, and spun in my lane. We hit almost head on. If there was anything good about it, it was that I drove mine back to the trailer, while his was towed. As bad as my car is/was, his was MUCH worse. He had to replace just about the whole front end, including part of the bent firewall. I do have some pics of it torn down. I'll post a few later.

Luck for me, the damage is mostly cosmetic. The area behind the headlight was bent back pretty bad, but I got it looking pretty good.

Heh....like that garage huh ? It's just storage.....dirt floor and a couple light bulbs. It is actually getting torn down sometime this year, and will be replaced by this when it's done.

I just can't imagine taking a head on at the track??? I think I would had cut one loose down both pant legs!!
Did you have any time to react ?? I realize all bets are off once your on the track?? But did the other guy make any attempt to make restitution?

Earlier this past year I saw a '70 chevelle scrape the wall around 1000ft mark. Gave me a gut ake!!

Cool Shop too!!! Are you doing the work yourself?

Yeah, I saw him start to loose it out of the corner of my eye, and jumped on the brakes. I guess it could have been worse, and the main thing was that neither of us was hurt, physically anyway. I wanted to POUND his ass in the ground, but though better of it.

The other guy is a welder, and he offered to do any that may be needed if I had to replace any major panels. It was good of him to offer, but I still thought it wasn't shit, considering the damage. It ended up that a good friend of mine nows the guy, and told me about all the damage his car had. MUCH worse than mine.

Thanks. I didn't build the shop, or do the floor, which has been done since that picture, but am doing all the finish work inside.....insulation, electrical, etc.

It's as old as the house.....built in 1954. The problem is that there's a big tree behind the garage, that is pushing up the corner of the foundation. From the road, it looks like it had to much to drink, and is leaning over. It also needs a roof. I was actually going to re-do it and make it a workshop, but with the tree problem, among other things, it ended up not costing that much more for the new building.
