My Grandfather

Postby BADASS74GremlinX on Mon May 04, 2009 3:42 am

Well...it looks like my grandfather of 75 years is fast going downhill. He's got alztimers or however the fuck you spell it real bad and don't remember who anyone is anymore. he's in the nursing home now and will be till he dies. He was a man I looked up to both figuratively and literally as he was a wealth of knowlage, wizdom and stood 6'5" in his prime. i mean his side is where I got my mutant corn fed looking size myself. his going down hill so fast after my grandmothers passing in Jan 08 has seriously wounded the moral and love my family sorta once had. My mom is so stressed out and i had close cousins whom I don't really talk to anymore becuase this has stressed us all out so much and were all hurting worse everyday he gets worse. so I just wanted to tell you all about that and thats why i really haven't been on here as of late as it seems I got one devastating blow after another that keeps me away from things that i have fun with and enjoy. :( Losing family is one thing, but when 3 veeerry important members die or fade away in not even 3 fucking years,it tends to make you have a bleak outlook on life!

Bart, Hang in there Man. My grandmother is goign threw the same thing.
she was born in 1919, and used to be the backbone of the family, but we are lucky if she even knows who we are nowadays. :(
My Dad has also been gone now for about 7 years. He always told me the only things in life thta are promised are birth, paying tax's and death. Those are the only garantees in life, so enjoy Life while you can, becouse you really never know what tomorrow holds..
So if you need anyone to chat with about things Bart, you have my digits.

You cant change the Fates . Sometimes they are cruel sometimes they are gracious .
Just keep visiting him when you can . You will get more pleasure from him recognizing you , if only for a few minutes , that will last you a long time . Those few minutes will wash away the rest of it in your memeories .
For myself , my Mom is 93 this April . Still going strong living in her own house . I just went and got her some bags of fertilizer so she can get started on her garden this year .
On the down side I,m the one that visits her the most . My brother lives 2.5 hrs away , sisters live in British Columbia . When I go I take a deep breath , ring the door bell , unlock the door an go in . Same way every time . In my mind I,ve made it a ritual , thinking that it wont be so bad when I open the door and she is laying some where on the floor ..77.
I used to be good , then I got better , now I just dont care.

groan. that sounds like my old man before he passed on. his mind was already passed on. it was the life support that had him hung up in limbo. we agreed it was his time and they let him go. he did his time in this poor excuse for a world. he passed GO. he made the leap. now he's with all the other graduates, up there, laughin at us. he had a great sense of humor. i think god does too. 8)

As time goes on, you will remember all the good times, and that helps pull you threw it.
