The death of a 73 Gremlin

Postby BADASS74GremlinX on Sun Dec 02, 2007 7:52 am

about 10 years ago I traded a 71-74 Javelin AMX cowl hood and front bumper for a 73 Gremlin with a afro engineered 360 bolted to a 6 banger crossmember using a dodge dart mount and the factory mounts 'don't ask'. It had the 6 rear still in it when i pulled the 360 for a mild 343 and 727.i took it all apart to paint it and put the engine in correclty using a V8 crosmember. Now folks,Always ALWAYS have a plan,I didn't and let my car sit for years exposed to the elements becuase I didn't have a cover or a garage and all my parts were scattered at my house,my friends garages.Needless to say the car rusted out on me and was too far gone to do what I wanted to within my budget.so i stripped her out and cut her up thus ends the sad saga of my once beloved 73 Gremlin.at least now I have my 74 that has every thing on it already that I wanted to do with the 73.so here's the deevelution of my 73......

The white thing is my 97 GMC 1500 Sierra truck and the ford is mine as well currently sitting beside the house with a blown tranny :x I don't see a El Camino in any of the pics.

Yeah your right...I'm still drinkin the first cup of coffee afterall its only 7 am. I was looking at the fourth to the last picture...it shows the back of the gremmy in primer. Off in the corner it must be your pickup. At a quicky, half blind glance I thought it was a el camino.

Yeaah Doug...the shell was savable,But i couldn't even GIVE it away.I offered it body only no doors,or fenders just some rot in the floors for FREE but all i got were time wasters. :( I wanted to save the rockers and quarters but had no room for them at my house.

The front half of the gremlin.I sectioned it in 3 steps first i cut the floor from the front to the back leaving only the rear and the front end of the shell, then i beheaded the car removing the roof, then i cut in half from the middle of the rear and front so they could fit in my truck.I made 2 trips and got 25$ total for the scrap metal.I saved everything I could off the car too.
