Adding some cred to this joint

Ok, I don't race or even drive my AMC. But I want the very best for the oiling system when I talk about my car or fire it up and back it out of the garage once a year. So should I do the oil line mod and get a blueprinted timing cover from Bulltear coated in unobtainium?

a guy brings me this shitpot 401 to rebuild. it lost a rod brg and he drove it until the piston got tired of smackin the counterweights and fragmented. then the guy shut it off. the wristpin hammered the cylinder, but it cleaned up at 030 over. the crank had to be welded and turned. the rod was ruined. anyways he bought a bunch of stuff for it, one part was a bulltear timing cover. so anyways i get this crapper built, and try and install the distributer. it won't go. I figure it's got too much nickle plate in the dist hole, so I take it off, the distributer goes right in the hole,so I scratch my ass awhile, and put the cover back on. the distributer still won't go in. whats wrong is the relationship between the distributer hole and the cam gear is too close, and the gears are to close to each other for the distributer to go together. so I tell the guy, he gets all freaky about how its a new cover and all and can't have anything wrong with it. I say ok, whatever, I'll take care of it. so I use his old cover and rebuild the oil pump and put it all together, everything works fine. I sez ok come and get it. he sez how did you fix it? I said I used his old cover. well he can't have that at all, and before you know it I got that boy a.j. from south texas amc callin me up and raggin my ear about how the block is fucked up and the dowells are bad, it can't be HIS cover, and all this shit. I say whatever. aj climbs in and out of my ass for an hour or more, askin all kindsa shit bout who the fuck am I, finally my phone hung up on him. so anyways the guy comes and picks up his engine, and i hand him his bulltear cover. here we go again with the bullshit. I said if you want that pos on your engine, your gonna hafta put it on yourself. the next guy that brought me one I told him all about it, and there's no way I'm even gonna try to use it. fuck a junkshit crown cover coated in mystery flakes. it's a piece of junk no matter what you cover it in. If I had another hour, I'd tell you about all the shit his fucked up e-bay carburetor caused.

Spud, just for clarification, I don't **THINK** that the refered cover was from Bulltear, but was in fact from A.J. and was a Crown product. I'm fairly sure he got it directly from AJ.

well,I think the cover was nickle plated, I could be wrong that was a few years ago..... don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming aj for makin a bad cover , or even bulltear for plating a bad cover, crown made the piece of shit. I dunno why aj would claim or assume any responsibility, or bulltear for that matter, neither one had anything to do with creating the piece of shit. but they both hung their names on it, and assumed anyone badmouthing a defective cover would be badmouthing them, which I am not. They are just selling other peoples junk is all. wether it be canadian junk, or chinese junk, or phillipine junk, or brazillian junk, everyone is selling shit and needs to know about it. they can be personally offended if they wanna bear that cross, thats their choice. the way products are marketed these days is a problem. who do you blame when your new distributer gear goes bad? the guy who installed it in the??? maybe crown??? cover? the guy who sold it to you ? the warehouse who he got it from? the company who bought a thousand and installed them on their distributers? the company who imported them from some third world country? the guy who made ten cents that day cutting them on a 40 year old worn out american machine he doesn't know how to run?or the outfit in china who cast the blanks? or the mine in eithiopia who dug the ore?
