Klvn8r no can do saturd day. gotta work
hey jeepin', M&M has this semi cool extreme energy comp cam for a six popper. hmmm. I might scam it off him...Them GOOBERS at hesco are still " checking the pricing" on the shit I tried to order monday. And those stainless valves for 4oh's are extinct. now the best they can do are 400 bux worth of"custom" valves that don't fit cuz they got metric stems.... WFT is their deal? i think they are tryin to get in my ass.

HESCO has always seemed to be hit or miss. I tried to buy some stuff off them a LONG time ago and kept getting the run around. They have good stuff so I hear, but getting it at a decent price is another challenge. That sucks about those valves. $400 bucks for something that doesn't work sounds like a helluva deal.... I should jump on that!

What's the story with this cam? Who is M&M?
I'm gonna race something soon... damnit.

I'm starting to think you really , really got to WANT to buy anything from HESCO pretty fuckin bad. first off, their ads and catalog is vague as shit. when you ask questions, you get the one line response and have to keep pumping questions at them before you get the picture. then you get the impression price is more about who your asking than what the catalog sez. Lee gives me a price on the bulletin board, the catalog has another price, then bennie the sales guy can't even give you a price. the fuckin goofball has had all week to work on"pricing" on the three fucking things I tried to order, and has never called, e-mailed, posted in their bulletin, anything, a fucking response. I mean shit the online catalog has a PRICE .... WTF??? I'm about ready to tell em all to SUCKIT!!!!.

Well I got a little bit more done today. I have run out of money for a little bit so I decided to get some stuff done that doesn't require it. So dad and I bolted the motor and tranny together and snuggled it between the fenders to see if it would fit. We did run into some problems: the biggest problem is that the oil pan is touching the cross member. I would like at least an inch or more clearance just to be safe. Do I need to run a 258 oil pan, pickup, and pump? The other problem is obvious, the aw4 doesn't just bolt right in! I was hoping to be able to modify the factory cross member, but it looks like I will have to fab my own. No biggie, but everything needs to be right (motor mounts, rear end, etc.) before I make it. I only had one motor mount, so the other side is propped up with a 2x6! lol.

crap man I was hopin' you'd get a shot of where the oilpan touches the xmember. That kinda sux cuz the 4.0 pan looks a hole lot better than a shitty 258 pan. it's deeper and has a nice baffle to keep the oil in the sump when you hit the brakes after a burnout. I was gonna add a baffle to keep the oil from climbing the rear wall under acceleration, but all in all the 4.0 pan is a sweet unit. i wouldn't give a nickel for a 258 pan. I'm thinkin the problem you had with this won't happen to me. the hornet block brackets are swept an inch or so to the rear compared to the javelin mounts i compared them to. Indicating your crossmember is further rearward. I guess i better check this problem out.

Ya I forgot to grab a pic of it. I think I might be able to make it work, but I would have to beat the shit out of the member, or at least try to roll the lip of it. I will look at it some more and take some pictures for y'all. It may not be that bad. The other thing is that it does hang kind of low... not too bad but lower than I though it would.

Oh ya, there aint no dropping in the motor and tranny together. We managed to do it, but that's because we didn't have the head on the motor. When final assembly starts they will go in one at a time.

well what you can do is cut the part off that is in the way, and mig weld up the little gap it would leave. i think I know what part of the member interfers, it's the "lip fomed by the top and bottom peices close to the oilpan. klvn8r had to do this to his javelin xmember with the oilpan he used on his 401. it's not hard to do if you got something to trim the member , and a wirewelder. you may be able to grind enough off without cutting the weld out. you don't need a hole lot of space between the pan and member, a 1/4 inch or so may be fine

people, HESCO is the HOOKUP! Those people have got to have some keeeeller DOPE. they must be TOTALLY FUCKIN HIGH. they want me to pay 16.22 each for intakes and 17.84 for exhaust valves, that they modify from bigger valves, than need valveguides installed, special keepers and retainers. etc to work. UHHHHH... lemme check.... uhh FUCKIN HEEEELLLLL NO! I can get the same fuckin sized valves as stock,
Manley, 1.9 and 1.5, with a 11/32 stem, that the guide can be reamed to fit, swirl polished, necked down, backcut, stainless one piece, for 8.50 each pass the BONG dude. STOKE UP THE BUDS! jeezus fuckin christ.... are jeepers that fuckin stupid? did I say that?

ok now I'm blowing off building a killer motor again. I'm too cheap to pay HESCO for their shit. I might just go back to the boneyard fro another junker to explode. I can get six for what hesco wants for a set of pistons. I can get twenty for what they want for a dfi electronic setup. do the math bro. fuck hesco

So, I have a serious question I need an answer to. What range of gas mileage do you think I could get out of my Concord? It will be a mostly stock 4.0 with an AW4 tranny behind it. A Model 20 out back with 3.55 gears with maybe a 26" tire. The way i see it is that my old Cherokee with the same setup would get 20 on the highway, would better aerodynamics and less weight help me get over the 25 mark or better?
