I had a '66 Rogue, with a 360 and a T-5, it got around 26 on the freeway at about 80 mph. You should be able to best that with an EFI sicks banger.

I hope. I'm in a bit of a bind. My wife was hinting at the fact that we are spending way too much on gas. Basically, she wants me to find something that gets good gas mileage. She is a little pissed that I have 5 cars and I get nothing better than 15 MPG. So, I am thinking about selling my Wrangler. I really don't want too, but gas is projected to be well over $4 a gallon here shortly and we just can't afford that with as much as we drive. She drives at least 100 miles a day and I drive about 60-70 a day. I figure I should be able to get about 7 grand for the Wrangler. My truck needs about 2 g's to be done with it's restoration and I could put a good amount towards the Concord. I would hope to have a couple grand left over to pay some shit off. My other alternative is to go buy a Honda Civic. They are pretty well made actually and seem to last forever. They get around 30 something in the city sometimes over 40 on the highway. I could buy one for about $3-5 grand and have a little left over for either the truck or the Concord. I really just don't know what to do but need to do something. :(
I'm gonna race something soon... damnit.

If you buy a Honda, get an Accord. Excellent cars. Much better ride and drive than a Civic and still over 30 mpg on the highway.

Go out in your garage and grab a large piece of cardboard. Go outside and figure out which way the wind is blowing. Now, hold up that cardboard in front of you and run as best you can into the wind. That's pretty much a Wrangler. It's a 4000 pound brick. The Cherokee does a little better, 18 city and low 20's on the highway, that is mostly because the aerodynamics are a little bit better and it weighs less.

I do like the Accord's. My wife drives a 03 sedan with the 3.0L V6, leather, power everything, sunroof, etc. It rides really nice with the right tire on it and does move pretty damn well. Surprisingly quick little bastard.

ok so racin season is off till september, and apparantly there are no more amc engines to build, and i'm back on to the JUNKSHIT 6 banger turbo project. WHY? why the fuck not? If nuthin else this shitheap will make a swell streeter. In a junked out piece of shit way and thats cool with the spud. as much as I hated to do it, I had the block bored and bought new rings and pistons. yeah, they were cheap. real cheap. like chinese cheap. but hey, who wants to go around foggin for mosquitoes with an oil burner. so I noticed the crank was gettin some fuzzy orange rust on it, so i drug it into the shed for some shoeshine polishing. i don't think it's too screwed up to run. as for the rest of the engine, I think it'll be ok, i guess i'll get some new gaskets and bearings and toss this thing back together. I'm gonna use some junk from an old 258, damper, pulleys, brackets, distributer, and whatnot for the old school accesory drive and ignition, and will run a carb. I think the one thing I will hafta dump$$ into is a good intake, the clifford looks like the way to go for simplicity. no bullshit efi for me. I wish I could post some pictures. this shit sucks pretty bad.

Just about any auto machine shop should have a powder-welding setup for cast iron.

i don't have any running v-8s with a torqueflite crank. I have a 360 with a borgamatic crank though.
