Thats fuckin cool spud.....What did you put it in??

Dam you spud for not being a computer geek, instead you eat ribs, drink beer and build amc motors. Don't you have teenager kids??!!! I always get my little brother to come over and do my computer stuff.

Hope you get your springs figured out and like everybody else were happy for you...Tell us more about it?? Our drag racing doesn't start for another month..

Tell us what you think when you get back from the track :)

I bought this unfinished rotating assembly from aris asodourian last year. it was a 3.8 inch stroke crank, manly 6 inch rods, brc flattops for a 4.185 bore, light pins, narrowed rod brgs, 1/16th rings. I used some 58 cc heads, with SI industries 208/174 chryco stainless valves, ported them and stuff. I was gonna use a crower cam, but it didn't fit the bearings for some reason, so I used this bigger REED cam I had laying around. it is 296/302 {261/270@050} and has something like 569/ 579 lift, 108 lda. also used crower lifters with the little oil holes in the contact face. I was gonna use the complete crower setup, but decided 440 lbs of open pressure was a bad idea. so yesterday i got a comp cams setup, springs, retainers, 10 degree locks and spring cups, which is giving me about 130 seat and 350 open pressures, which is exactly the pressures Reed recommended. I also have a milodon single line pan, indy pickup, drilled the block so I didn't need a sandwich plate, internal oil line,uhh... manley 8 inch pushrods, crower rockers, torker, and currently have a 750 hp holley on top. gonna get an 830 hp holley soon. It all went together nice, decked the block down 020 for zero deck height, should be around 12.5 to one. Cam is pretty cool. I can idle it down to like 500 rpm. open the throttle and it is real responsive. might get some track time this week.

Well I finally got to race the whorenet today, I made the TMCCC event in Rusk Tx. It was the third race this year in the series. You could not ask for a more perfect day , sunny and cool, maybe 60 degrees, and a moderate breeze. I did not do well, as I expected with a fresh motor, not fully sorted out. It did well though, but I had a dumbfuck event, my distributer was not clamped down well, and my timing backed up throughout the time trials. I caught on after the second trial, and eyeballed it in. I redlit the first round by .009, and broke out also, running a 10.84 on a 10.99 dial, which was a guess as my first trial netted me an 11.03 at 122. and the second trial netted a 11.16 at 121 as the timing backed off. I ran the first round in the consolation eliminations, cut a decent .022 light, but broke out again, running a 10.75 on a 10.83 dial. boo hoo. it was the best run of the day, .022 reaction. 1.501 60 foot, 6.829 at 100.87 mph 1/8th time, and 10.751 at 124.63mph. I was running a 750 hp holley, which seemed ok, but will step up to a 830 hp holley next week at the lufkin drags. I was the only amc there, and picked up just 3 points for the ntamc club, which are the only points we have at this point. all in all I was not disappointed with the new engine, and think 10.50's are possible with some tuning and refinements. so I got 4 runs on the new engine. I guess I'll change the break in oil out. :D
