well I think i got a decent base tune. hadta tweek the secondarys open for some more idle air. it will idle down to like 500 rpm no problem. oil pressure is like 10 lbs idling that low, so I set the idle to 1000 rpm. i get about 20 psi idling there. pulled the dist and checked the gear. It was lookin ok. { cuz it was an antique,i ainst trustin no new gears in something important like this } I tried 18 degrees initial timing, but it was too hard on the starter. went back to 15 degrees base with 21 degrees centerfugal {36 total} Probly do like drag sez and lock the timing and get a retard box for startup {later on} went with gr5 ngk plugs, thats 1 step colder than the gr4's in the old streetmotor. we'll see how they do. need to get it to a test and tune before lufkin and see what it does.

Do you have to try to be such a dick, or does it just come natural ?

Actually, I was being serious. 10.40s is PDQ, especially for 355 cubes.
I didn't realize you were so sensitive.

 maybe I'll just blow the tires off with it and slow down. I gotta get some different valvesprings. these 68390-3 crowers are just too tight with the goofy 1.74 installed height and the inner springs in there. looks like about 420 lbs over the nose. I think I would be better off with 350-370 lbs. maybe I can score some 995 comp springs on short notice. I broke the compressor i borrowed and had to make my own compressor. it works great and looks like it can handle a top fuel triple spring. but it looks like shit ...

I bought a spring compressor at Sears or someplace, and broke it the first day. So I made a kickass one, but I have to have the head off the car to use it. On the good side, after a little practice, it's almost as quick as a pneumatic spring compressor.
